Hazrat Inayat KhanHazrat Inayat Khan was born in Baroda, India on July 5, 1882 into a family of great musicians. After establishing himself at an early age as a master musician and then working for the revival of interest in the spiritual heritage of Indian music, he trained in the four major Indian schools of Sufism. In 1910 he left India for the West and lectured extensively in Europe and America. His poems, prayers, and sayings were published in three collections titled Gayan, Vadan, and Nirtan. |
